A journey, layered with love
Every layer has its story.Maybac is the work of one baker's curiosity. It started in a small kitchen in Surat and grew through London, travels across the world and two cafés. In 2026 it became a school, so the craft can pass on to new hands.

From one kitchen to Maybac
Where it all quietly began
A small home kitchen, a curious mind and a simple question: what makes something taste like joy? For three to four years Rutu baked from home, making custom cakes, desserts and party orders, big and small.
"A small kitchen, a curious mind, & a simple question: what makes something taste like joy?"
Learning the language of precision
London became the first chapter in mastering pâtisserie. Rutu worked inside a professional bakery and in a warehouse, learning how desserts are made for retail, wholesale and bulk orders. Before coming home, she trained in artisan breads, French breads, doughnuts and desserts.

Collecting stories in every bite
From the richness of Turkey's kunafa to the elegance of Swiss chocolate and the bold indulgence of Dubai, each place added a new layer to her craft.
Bringing it all back home
Rutu's Bakehouse opened its doors, reimagined for her people so that indulgence could be shared by all.
"Reimagined for her people, so indulgence could be shared by all."
A vision becomes Maybac
Maybac opened on VIP Road, Vesu: a space for handmade bakes, indulgent desserts and savoury food, designed to be enjoyed slowly. The Sleeping Teddy was on the menu from day one. A Navratri stall in the opening weeks introduced Maybac to the city.

The Teddy goes viral
Halloween décor at the height of the festive season, and the Sleeping Teddy became the dessert everyone in Surat was talking about.

Christmas, and a London French toast
Christmas décor filled the café, and London's French Toast Platter went viral. When it left the menu, guests kept asking for it, so it came back for good.
"A London-style Christmas café, right here in Surat."
Valentine's at Maybac
Valentine's décor and a special collection of Valentine's desserts.
"The viral teddy Valentine's theme, in Surat."
Surat's only chocolate wheel
The Chocolate Raclette arrived: molten chocolate scraped from the wheel straight onto your cake at the table.

Matcha season and the Scoop Cookie
The Matcha range arrived, from strawberry and mango to blueberry and oat. So did the viral Scoop Cookie, a first for Surat: a warm cookie with a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of Nutella, Biscoff or pistachio.

Dubai's viral hamper, now in Surat
The Dubai chocolate hamper box arrived in Surat for the first time, and became our most-talked-about gift.

The Raksha Bandhan rush
Our first Raksha Bandhan hamper, with a custom tag and ribbon. The team worked 36 hours non-stop and sent out 500 to 600 hampers in a single day.

A passion worth sharing
One year after Maybac opened, the Maybac Bakery & School opened: a new space where the love for baking passes on to new hands.

Back where it started
A year after our very first stall, Maybac was back at Navratri, celebrating with the city that welcomed us.

Why "Maybac"?
The name came from Rutu's brother-in-law. Leaving a meeting one day with Rutu's husband, he spotted a Maybach parked outside. If a car could carry that much luxury, why not a café?
They dropped the "h" and made it their own. The trademark came through in about a week, against all odds, and Maybac was born.
How we bake

Imported chocolate
We bake with Callebaut and Lindt chocolate, and the rest of our pantry is chosen with the same care.

Eggless. No gelatine.
Every item at Maybac is eggless, and no dessert uses gelatine. Many dishes are also available in Jain.

Finished at your table
Raclette scraped, chocolate poured, sauce drizzled: many of our desserts are completed in front of you.
